This Privacy Policy describes how RClone ("the Application"), operated by Love the Code ("we", "us", or "our"), accesses, uses, stores, and protects Google user data when executing automated system and database backup workflows from our AlmaLinux infrastructure to Google Drive using Rclone.
When authorized via Google OAuth 2.0, the Application requests access our Google Drive account strictly to perform automated file synchronization and backup storage. Depending on the configured Rclone scope, the Application accesses one of the following Google API scopes:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file (Recommended: Per-file access strictly to files and folders created or opened by this Application).https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive (Full access to organize, upload, verify, and rotate backup archives within designated Google Drive directories).Through these scopes, the Application accesses file metadata (filenames, directory structures, modification timestamps, and MD5/SHA1 checksums) and file contents strictly within the designated backup target paths.
Google user data accessed by the Application is used exclusively for the following operational purposes:
We do not use Google user data for advertising, analytics, user profiling, or training artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
RClone by Love the Code's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not sell, rent, lease, or share your Google user data or OAuth credentials with any third parties. All data transfers occur directly between our secured AlmaLinux server infrastructure and Google's official API endpoints via Rclone.
We implement strict infrastructure and cryptographic controls to protect authorized Google credentials and backup payloads:
rclone.conf) are restricted via strict POSIX file permissions (chmod 600) and optional configuration encryption, accessible only to the dedicated system service account.OAuth 2.0 refresh tokens are retained locally on the AlmaLinux server only for as long as the automated backup integration remains active. Backup files uploaded to Google Drive remain in your Google Drive account under your direct ownership and retention rules.
You may revoke the Application's access to your Google account at any time by visiting your Google Account Security Permissions page, or by deleting the local rclone.conf credential store on the server. To request immediate deletion of any stored credentials or configuration metadata, contact us at the email address below.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, our backup infrastructure, or how your data is handled, please contact us:
